Can you say Tiznerky

It's turkey time so here we go
please don't drop my turkey on tha flo.
Thursday's the day when I get real happy
but don't come over here if yor hair is nappy.

It's Thanksgiving eve and I am fired up. My nurse is at work and doesn't have to go back until Monday. I think . We are going to see the Mavs play the lakers on Friday and I want to go catch a Baylor Basketball game on Saturday or Sunday in Anaheim. It's raining today for the first time since we have been here. It's a lovely rain that cozies my heart. Love me some rain. Has anyone seen the movie knocked up or Super Bad? The house that Seth Rogan lived in was filmed a couple of blocks from Kayla's hospital. The scene from Super Bad where they set the police car on fire was filmed down the street from our apartments in a college parking lot. Kinda neato. Check out the Turkey rap.
Oooooooooowweeeeeeeeeyy!! That was sweeeeet. I surprised myself with that one. I know I have skilz but I just grew as an artist. Where was I? I lost focus. I'm ready to go pick up my Nurse so we can plan the cooking for Thursday morning. My football game starts earlier here than in Texas so we must not have any delays.

Thanksgiving and Lucie...and other stuff...Yeah.....stuff

Yo blog readers. Thanksgiving is a couple of days away and I am glad. I love this holiday and Kayla doesn't work. Another good thing about travel nursing is that she gets to sit down with her clinical supervisor and make her schedule instead of it being made for her. Somehow she doesn't have to work T Giving or Christmas. She has to work New Years but that's ok. We can't be greedy. Last year we had a freakin 24 lb turkey that Medical City gave her. It was massive and barely fit in out oven. I'd love to be at home home this year for the holidays but our temporary home will do just fine this year. This travelin thang aint to shabby. As much exploring as we still have to do in L.A. I almost can't wait to continue on to our next destination.

I mention Lucie because she is extremely hateful to our new puppy. We don't live in a cartoon where cats and dog's truly hate one another. This is supposed to be happy real people life. I can only continue to hope that they will become pals someday and play like we want them to play.

You know I have been rude to my guitar since we moved. I have only played it once and that is unacceptable. I need to write some more songs and I would like to find a small open mic event to play. I'm just looking for something small. YouknowwhatI'msayin? Holy cow did I mention anywhere that Callie the puppy has been awesome 4 days in a row now. No accidents on the carpet. She takes her tiny self right over yonder to her potty pad and does the doo. She knocks out both #1 and #2. Hope that wasn't too much.

Aight then. Holla at chew later.

My Nurse

For those who don't know, we live in Los Angeles, CA right now. Kayla is a travel nurse and that's what we're doing. Traveling. She signs a contract for 13 weeks at a hospital and after it's up we go somewhere else. It's a pretty sweet gig. We have no rent or utilities to pay other than our TV and internet bills. I'm working on doing some things online while Kayla is at work. It would be difficult to find a job in an actual building for only 13 weeks. It's may be possible but I may get over looked because of that. So we plan on exploring this part of California but have yet to scratch the surface. We shall soon. We get to see the country for as long as we like before we decide to really settle down. Some day we may create some of those small people that several of my friends have now.

Would you like to know my frustration? Huh? This puppy we have is not doing what we want her to. Go outside or on the potty pad. PLEASE STOP GOING ON THE FLOOR. She now wears a denim diaper part time and it is ridiculously funny to look at, I thought I was going to have make Kayla breathe into a paper bag last night she was breathing so hard.

Kayla works with 2 other travelers. We are friends with both now and have all hung out. One of them had quite a mixture of drinks at a N. Hollywood Halloween party and the other sang karaoke at a restaurant. Not telling who but they are fun peeps. We all 3 have the same furniture. I wonder why? Hmmmm..........At least it's nice. That was my main concern when we came here. What kind of apartment were they going to give us? It's REALLY nice. The whole complex. And it has a designated animal restroom grass area. Oh no!! It's time to go pick up my woman from work. More and better blog post to come.

Our new edition

If you don't already know we purchased a dog from some folks north of L.A. two weeks ago. She is quite the turd already. She is about the size of a large golf club so we must be aware to not step or kick her. The confusion comes when she decides it's time to eliminate. Elimination makes its way onto the carpet or out kitchen hard wood floor. However, there are times when she goes exactly where she should. The potty pad. Oh the potty pad has become a bit of a sanctuary for elimination. We love to visit. I lack patience. She is layed out on the couch next to me. Has no clue what a dang potty pad is. Oh well, she is now a traveler as we are. Make yourself a dang casadilla. ND. I need to lose 10 more pounds to be where I want. Shoulda see how nasty the So Cal fires were. It was hard to breathe. Ashes falling like snow flakes. Except they don't melt. I'll be back.
